Great question! Just after Christmas, I decided that I wanted to challenge myself to create images unlike my typical style. I was web browsing and came across a beautiful image of Hedy Lamarr. I thought to myself, it would be really cool to photograph with this kind of lighting. Very different from my children’s portraits
So I got inspired by the 30′s era of photography and I’ve been photographing women like crazy. But, it isn’t just about photographing women in cool hollywood glam, it’s also about using one particular “prop” – one chair. This has created some challenges I wasn’t even aware of going into the project, but I am really enjoying the process.
The “Vanity Chair” event is going to be a really fun night where I finally unveil my new work *gulp*. We’re going to have great music, wine, snacks and Salon Karma & Suki are going to be there to spoil you while you check out the great art and even participate!
