About

So you’ve come across my website and you’re thinking, these photos are pretty good, but who is this person? Would I want to invite her into my life, my house, to have her photograph my children and my family? I can relate. When it comes to my kids, I am very cautious. You might hear me talking about my kids, but unless you are a close friend, I probably won’t share their names.

So who am I? I have been a mom for over eight years and have been a wife for fourteen. I am a daughter, a sister and a friend. In other words, I am just like you. I cherish the time I spend with my family. I don’t work on the weekends because that is the time we get to do things as a foursome. I am a New England girl and while I once lived on the west coast, and I’m not so in love with shoveling snow, I really do love the charm of the seasons.

I take my job as a mom seriously, but I often struggle with my on-the-job performance. Let’s face it, I make mistakes and I’m learning as I go. I make a point to tell my kids everyday how much I love them, but I’ve been known to throw up my hands and growl in utter frustration. How do these amazing little people charm us so wonderfully one minute, then completely frustrate us the next?

I am obsessed with all things French, from songs to decor to wine! Yes, I love wine. I’m really into Malbec wine right now – and I know Malbec is Agentinian, not French, so please don’t send me a note correcting me. I’ve lived and studied in Québec – you know that French-speaking place to our north – and I’ve only been to France once. But, I’m working on getting back there in 2012 (hint, hint, hubby).

I also really like food and cooking. I almost went to culinary school, but photography school was less expensive. I try to eat locally and organically as much as possible and enjoy trying out new recipes on my husband. Thank goodness he’ll eat anything. The kids are much less adventurous.

I love shopping for home accessories and shoes. I’m really not all that into handbags. I get my love of shoes from my mother. Her shoe closet could give Carrie Bradshaw’s a run for it’s money. I absolutely LOVE the store Anthropologie and will occasionally convince my husband to drive with me down to South Windsor so I can get my visual-crack fix. I also really like Ikea. They make awesome meatballs.

I can be a little manic and when I get something in my head, I can’t stop till it’s out. What can I say? I’m a doer. I get things done. When the creative bug bites me in the behind, I have no choice but to act on it. I think this is what makes me good as a photographer. When someone is in front of my camera, I am 100% with that person. It’s one of the few times in my life that I’m not trying to multi-task.
